Regional Museum of Natural History is located in Bhubaneswar cpital of Odisha, India. It was inaugurated in 2004. The museum exhibits plants, animals and geology of the Odisha, the Eastern and north-eastern India and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India. The main motive of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India behind establishing the museum is to create awareness about the environment and promoting conservation education among the general public and students. People are offered vital information about the flora and fauna and their importance for the human beings. The museum provides an extracurricular activity for schools and promotes environmental awareness. Visually challenged students can feel the exhibits of animals on the premises. One of the prominent attractions of the museum is the huge skeleton of Baleen Whale that captivates the attention of the visitors. which is supposed to be largest for any museum in India.
