Ananta Vasudeva Temple is a famous Hindu Temple. It is situated in Buvaneswar town of Khordha district, Odisha. This temple is dedicated to lord Vishu. In this temple lord Vishnu is called as Ananta Vasudeva .The temple was constructed in the thirteenth century, and the complete murties of Krishna, Balarama and Subhadra are worshipped there. Balarama stands under a seven hooded serpent, Subhadra holds Jewels pot and lotus in her two hands keeping her left foot over another jewel pot, while Krishna holds a mace, chakra, lotus and a conch.In front, the temple resembles the Lingaraj temple, but includes vaishnavite sculptures.The western side of the Ananta Vasudeva Temple lies near the Bank of Bindu Sagar lake. According to the legends, Lord Vishnu was worshiped at the place where Ananta Vasudeva Temple stands at present. The new temple was built in the 13th century by Queen Chandrika of Eastern Ganga dynasty. The shrine was named as Anata Vasudeva.
