Brahmapur or Berhampur is a city located on the eastern coastline of Ganjam district of the Indian state of Odisha in East India. The city is famous for silk sarees and the trading centre for the beautiful hand-woven Ikat silk. The city is known as 'Silk City of Odisha'. Other handcrafts like brass and bell metal ware, horn toys, wood carvings and carpets are also aavailbe in the city market. The city won't dissapoint the one who loves shopping. The city is surrounded by many tourist places. The shrines of Thukurani, Jagannath and Nilakantheswar Shiva Temples and museum within the town are worth visiting.

Gopalpur beach is located very close to the city. The beach is known as Gopalpur-on-sea. The beach is visited by tourists mostly during the morninng time to witness the mesmerizing view of sunrise. Street foods and resturants are availabel close to the beach. The place is popular among honeymoon couples. Luxury hotels are there to server tourists. Taptapani, a hot sulphur spring is also at a distance of 50 km from Berhampur.

Jirang, a beutiful place surrounded by waterfalls, hills, thick forests located 85kms from Berhampur. The place is famous for the buddist monestry named Padmasambhava Mahavihara monastery inagurated by Dalai Lama. There is a waterfall located 15 kms from the place.
