Most important tourist destinations in Odisha are connected by well laid-out network of roads. 22 National highways with total length of 4,849.42kms are passing through Odisha . These highways includes NH-16, 18, 20, 26, 49, 53, 55, 57, 59, 63, 130C, 143, 149, 153B, 157, 220, 316, 326, 326A, 353, 516 & 520. The national highway 16 passes through the capital.
Bus:One can get bus to any city or small town from Bhubaneswar. OSRTC and private-owned buses ply from the Baramunda Bus Stand in Bhubaneswar to different locations of the state.
The public bus transport in Odisha is managed by by Odisha State Road Transport Corporation which looks after the roadways transportation of the state and aims at providing quality and time bound services to the passengers. OSRTC plies various categories of buses like VOLVO Coach, AC Delux Rajdhani Coach, Non-AC Delux Coach, Express Coach, Hi-Tech Coach, Hi-Comf Coach, Lynx Coach, Marcopolo Coach, Ordinary Coach ensuring safety and comport of the traveller. The buses are well maintained. OSRTC not only connects to cities, it is well connected with the remote and tribal areas. Like other states, it also provide fare concession to students, handicapped persons, Freedom fighters, rural journalists.
OSRTC has 23 depots all over Odisha. The depots are Berhampur, Bhanjanagar, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhawanipatna, Angul, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Balangir, Sambalpur, Padampur, Rourkela, Vizayanagaram, Jeypore, Phulbani, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Nuapada & Paralakhemundi.
Cab/ Rental Car/ Taxi :One can avail of rental car services in most of the popular destinations. Rental cars come with both self and chauffeur driven options. Tourist taxis, available near most airports, resorts and hotels, are a generally preferred option.
Auto Rickshaw/ Autos :These three-wheeled vehicles provide a convenient and cheap mode of transport. One can find auto rickshaw stands near most of the tourist spots and also at areas like airports, railway stations and bus stands. For local tour it is the cheapest and easy option.
Bhubaneswar is zonal head quarter of East Coast Railway. South Eastern Railway and South East Central Railway also serves in Odisha. All the important train passing through Odisha halts in bhubaneswar. Multiple trains run in between bhubaneswar and major stations like Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai. Puri is another major station in odisha. Many trains are available for Puri via Bhubaneswar station. The total length of railway line is around 2469km including 54km of narrow gauge. Almost all the districts are connected by railways.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and government of Odisha for the Haridaspur-Paradeep link. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited also took over the Angul- Duburi- Sukinda Road link.
Bhubaneswar Airport or Biju Patnaik International Airport is the only domestic/international Airport in state located 3km from city center. The airport can be easily and quickly accessed by buses & taxis and is well connected by regular flights from different destinations in India. Bhubaneswar city bus and other luxury coaches connect the city of Bhubaneswar to its airport with regular service. The new terminal has good facility and pre-paid taxi service has also been introduced. Bhubaneswar airport is well equipped with passenger-friendly facilities and amenities which include several spa & luxury lounges, child care rooms, Wi-Fi internet, ATMs, snack shops, art & handicraft gallaries, information counters and restaurants. The walls of the terminal are well decorated with tribal motifs, masks and sculptures that are indicative of Odisha's rich cultural heritage.
Terminals:
Domestic (Terminal 1) - The new terminal was inaugurated in March 2013. This is a two storied building with an area
of 18,240 sq meters. The terminal has the capacity of holding 4 million passengers a year. The terminal is
environment-friendly, built according to green building standards with sewage treatment plants. It has peak hour
handling capacity of 400 passengers. The terminal has 18 Check-in counters, 5 security counters, 3 arrival luggage
conveyors, 2 aerobridges.
International (Terminal 2)– Terminal 2, This terminal was earlier handling domestic flights, Now it is renovated for international operations. The terminal has 6 check-in counters, 10 immigration counters and other facilities and amenities. As of now AirAsia and Air India operate international flights to and from the terminal.
